Theresa Vail takes aim as chair of Sportsmen for Brownback
Former Miss Kansas Theresa Vail is joining the re-election campaign of Governor Sam Brownback and Lt. Governor Jeff Colyer and has been named chairwoman of Sportsmen for Brownback.
Vail, an avid hunter and outdoor enthusiast, joined the team Monday evening at an event at the Ravenwood Lodge outside Topeka, hosted by State Rep. Ken Corbet.
“I am excited and honored to be part of the growing list of supporters joining the fight to re-elect Governor Brownback,” Vail said. “As a woman, I believe defense of the Second Amendment is paramount for my personal safety. I feel safer by having a governor like Sam Brownback who defends those rights. ”
Sportsmen for Brownback is a coalition of outdoor enthusiasts who stand in support of Governor Brownback’s re-election campaign, touting his defense of the state’s bountiful resources and world-class outdoor opportunities.
“Theresa is an outstanding spokeswoman for the campaign and shares our passion for promoting the great Kansas outdoors,” Brownback said. “She is an inspiration for women of all ages to stand up for their values and to experience all that this great state has to offer.”
Vail is a member of the Kansas National Guard. She has gained national attention for her love and support of outdoor activities. Vail has participated in events across Kansas and the United States to promote hunting and outdoor opportunities for women of all ages, including sharing her archery expertise with Girl Scout troops.
Starting in 2015, Vail will host “Limitless with Theresa Vail,” on the Outdoor Channel. The series will feature Vail pushing herself to her physical and mental limits by hunting, climbing, marching and skydiving in extreme conditions across North America.
